On The Side...

It's been a week since my first day at work and I wish I could put this in another way but there just isn't. I LOVE it here. Love, love, LOVE it. Seriously, I am disgustingly happy. On the first day itself, I had already obtained three lunch kakis. It's not like as though they're young guns like me.

They've prolly got about seven years on me, give or take. As an intern, of course you can't expect the world given to you on a silver platter. Although it is a media company we're involved with, there are different aspects that make up the company ultimately, you're obviously not going to get your dream job or even close to the equivalent because of the simple fact that you are an intern. Period. Coming here, I didn't expect anything. I didn't expect it to be beside the three top radio stations in Singapore, I didn't expect the structure of the organization to be so laid-back and the environment so warm and friendly that allows you to network and make new friends in an instant.

I guess you could say I got lucky in a way because my in-charge is the least likeliest person I would expect to be your stereotypical in-charge. I look forward to coming to work everyday. Not only for my job here in the office, but also the side job I was called up as a favor. This one required me to be up at 4am in the morning for a week and rush to the airport to pick up clients for an upcoming event.

And frankly, I wasn't even bothered in the least although I did miss out on so many hours of sleep. Erwayne is one lucky female who panics at the slightest things. I would kill for her job and the events she's handling. And I relish these days every time she picks me up via a cab even though I have yet to have a proper sleep since Friday. She thinks I'm crazy. The dark circles around my eyes have evolved my face into a chic panda look. She's got the puffy thing going on beneath her eyes.

But for the people whom I am being paid to meet, I would gladly do it even if it meant not getting much sleep. 2am, 4am flights?? No problem. The fact that I picked up and would be picking up these people were just the type of adrenaline rush I needed to fuel me into overdrive for just that particular period of time. Although after that, I have been known to talk nonsense to myself, look punch-drunk and am capable of typing my thoughts or dreams with eyes half-mast instead of typing out the documents which I was supposed to.

I usually sneek in a nap when I'm either going to work or coming back during the journey in the bus. I wish there was something I could complain about but really, I can't. Going to work is fun. Picking up The Hot Bods from the airport at the break of dawn is a prelude to breakfast at McDonald's.

Trying to guess which of the passengers were part of The Hot Bods had become a past time as we held up our paddleboards in front of our faces and called out in soft lilting voices, "FINA??" like as though it was an invitation to do something naughty more than anything else. We wouldn't actually say just THAT when it came to the real deal.

This was just practicing our flirting, which we didn't exactly carry out throughout all the days that were required for us to be there. Now that the Hot Bods have come and gone, life hasn't really been back to normal. I gotta say, it's been a hectic few weeks and I don't think that's going to stop anytime soon.

Anywayz, here are some of The Hot Bods that had me being reduced to a fumbling idiot:

Laterz...
