Yesterday's outing was da bomb. Atomically, not really. It was more of good, easy fun where the people whom you're with mattered more than the things you're doing or the places you're going. The GB Family were supposed to hang out at Esplanade or Clarke Quay to just chill out, catch up on each other's agendas & hand over Punani's presents. A last minute change of plans saw us arriving at CHIJMES for the Jack Daniel's Friends Of Jack party, hosted by Perfect10 DJs Daniel Ong & Jamie Yeo.
The party was supposed to start when the sun went down & supposedly, a free-flow session of Jack Daniels was going to be held from 8.30pm till 10.00pm, but the late-comers that we were, we arrived AFTER the free-flow was over. Thanks to Punani himself, whom met Jan, Such & Chippy late which led to them meeting me late which led to us going around finding food & eating dinner late. Shane -Such's freshie- was also late, when we thought he had arrived long before & Michelle was the last one to arrive. Bitch that she was, we had to come to her because she 'didn't know the way'. *Rolls eyes.*
So, we trooped to CHIJMES well after the free-flow was over. The party was actually kinda crappy, though. A huge mega life-sized bottle of JD stood behind the big white tent at the gardens below; I tried to take a picture of it, but it was too dark & so was the bottle. All drinks after the free-flow hours were priced at $6 per glass, so Shane, Art & Michelle (as usual, *rolls eyes*) went over to the bar to purchase some. They ended up passing the drinks around to share since the rest of us couldn't afford in indulging in expensive alcohol.
We thought the party was going to be downhill & boring until they brought out a local band to play for us live. The band, Tabular, consisted of a Chinese lead singer who looked like Gerry the can't-sing-but-survived-long-due-to-large-fan-base alumni from the first Singapore Idol although this guy could sing so much better than he could dance to the music, an overweight Philippino bassist, a Caucasian lead guitarist with shoulder-length blond hair who seemed to shun the spotlight & a drummer, also Caucasian, whom looked like one of the guys from Linkin Park with his closely-cropped dark hair & matching goatee.
They were a punk-rock band, obviously but they didn't play any of their own original songs. Probably maybe because it wouldn't hype the crowd out. Instead they played somewhat 'radio-friendly' tunes that were so familar to people that of course, the crowd started singing & swaying to their music. The hits they played included remakes from Blur, Blink 182 & Red Hot Chili Peppers, but the song that just blew me away was their remake of My Sacrifice, by Creed. Like finally!! A song sang to match the lead singer's voice. He sounded weird when he sang the Peppers' song but when he did Creed, he kinda sounded better than them. Heh.
But the drummer was the one who stole the show & took it by storm. Well, at least in my opinion. And an added bonus was that he was quite good-looking...*blushes*. Ya lahh, gatal lahh, me. Whahahahkz!! Like duhh, while the rest were busy pouring alcohol down their throats, I took videos & pics of the band. What did you think I did, join in the let's-drown-our-sorrows-together-in-alcohol session with them??
Michelle was the first one to get drunk, though. Like, hello?? If you can't hold your liqour, then don't be an idiotic fool & drink so much in such a short period of time, lahh!! I mean, you wanna be like the big boys Shane & Art whom are so seasoned to drinking because they do that every week & yet, you can't even hold up a couple of glasses that were passed around. You start spouting rubbish & laughing so loudly, but I don't know if all of what you said & done yesterday was fake or for real. After all, you're always on pretend mode, aren't you. And the fact that you can still deny that you're not drunk really pisses me off. Come on, people whom are drunk wouldn't even know they were drunk in the first place. Any idiot would know that.
Your face was ruddy, you talked so loud, whatever that came out of mouth was utter nonsense & you still want to claim that you weren't drunk?? Huh. Not drunk, my ass. Hell, you already talk rubbish when you're not drunk, what more when we had a drunken you. The last one to arrive, yet the first one to drown into oblivion. Disgusting bitch.
And the one about you missing me so much?? I didn't buy it. I didn't buy it but I'm giving you the benefit of doubt. Whether you meant it or not, I'm still not buying it. I'm not sorry I said that because it's true. Like come on, you were drunk. End of story. You wouldn't even remember what you said to me the next time I see you. I heard that you said it to Jan & Such as well; I don't know why you said it because hell, you see them in school almost everyday!! And if you missed me very much, you would've squealed & pounced on me the moment you saw me. Like what Luis & I do everytime we see each other. But you?? You barely said a greeting to me & never looked my way when we met you. Not that I cared. I couldn't be bothered even if you did.
Well, at least hearing Tabular play made up for the lacklustre of the party & kept my temper in check since I spent most of my time away from the group due to filming. It did me well, considering how close I came to giving Michelle a good slap. We went home way before the party ended though, because I had a curfew to meet. Don't laugh.
I haven't talked to Mom about last night's activities yet & I'm sure she'd flip out if she knew I went to an alcohol party. Islam, kan!! Alcohol is strictly a no-no. But as long as I know it in me the difference between what's right & what's not, I don't see why I should be forbidden to attend all these nonsense. I mean, it depends on each individual, I guess.
You wanna go for these things?? Sure, go ahead. But remember where you come from, your background & what you're supposed & not supposed to be doing. Know your limits & know yourself. Although I might not be the drunken ones being the life of the party; but I can be the one LAUGHING at the drunken ones.
Met Nini & Fala on the way home at the MRT station. Both of them were from Bugis & had invited me along the day before they went. I was kinda caught in the middle for a moment when I was asked, but since I had no phone & was unreachable, I decided to give the two girls a rain check & went with the GB Family. Anywayz, it wouldn't matter whom I went with because in the end, I got to meet both groups!!
So, today I'm kinda in a lazing around mode, but I've got a wedding to attend to in the evening. A distant girl cousin who lived in Tampines like me on my Dad's side. Hmmm...that means I'll probably be seing lots of family members as well, some of which I don't like. I hope I'm lucky enough that I don't get to see the whole family. True, it's been quite some time since the whole clan saw each other, but I'd like it to be kept that way so that we only get to see each other during the Hari Raya period.
Anywayz, tonight!! France versus Faroe Islands in the World Cup Qualifiers. Channel 5, 2.50am. It's the ONLY game shown, okay?? That's why I HAVE to watch it, because I can't watch England vs Wales & neither can I watch Holland vs Armenia. All I have is France vs Faroe Islands. I don't like France very much but I don't like Faroe Islands either. But it'll be an interesting match to watch, considering that Zinedine Zidane is back from his retirement for his first compettetive international game since he left. Last month's game against Ivory Coast was just a friendly, so it doesn't count. And it'll be nice to see if David Trazeguet plays, after scoring the only goal for Juventus in the Italian Serie A. After all, the guy has been plagued with countless injuries last season & barely look menacing up front.
I WILL stay up no matter what. Will probably ask Jan if she wants to accompany me & we'll watch together since she's such a big fan of the French national team. Don't know why. What's so good about them anywayz?? They were dying before Zizou came back with Make & Thuram. And even then, Thuram wasn't so happy coming back, I heard. I might be wrong. *Shrugs*
And England?? Huh...God bless Sven Goran Eriksson tonight. He'll need it. The media all over the world will be watching their every move like a hawk. And any mistakes made will see them be squashed down like a bug & anything less than a win would probably see Eriksson get the boot. It'll be interesting to watch Rooney, Rio, Giggs & Richardson being pit against each other internationally.
And to you. Thanks for 'clicking' me & talking to me last night. Didn't expect that from you, especially. But I enjoyed our conversation nonetheless, even though it was cut short because you had to eat dinner & I had to go sleep. Hope you enjoyed those pics I sent your way as well as the small video clips. You're starting school this Monday, as you told me, so all the best for your first day back. Take a break from killing people & being a Mafia for awhile. Concentrate on your studies for now, 'kay?? And by the way, I think your English is getting better. Hmmm...you taking private lessons?? Ahahahkz!!
Laterz...
