Gone With The Wind...

Just like that, yesterday was MarcJacobsNerd's last day at the gym. This, after telling me that he was going to stick it out for another two months after him and a couple of The Usual Suspects receive their PT certificate. Obviously now he isn't going to get it since he left before the course confirmation.

Of course I'm bummed out that he left but the guy could barely contain his excitement over his last day of work that I very well couldn't be the pity party and beg him to stay. Besides, for the better part of it, he was now a member of the gym just like us mortals. What could possibly be better than to have a former FitProf as your gym kaki!!

MarcJacobsNerd helped me conquer this monster of an abdominal machine and I don't think I could've done it without him. When he first introduced me to the machine, I could barely lift it up myself and much less do ten reps per set. He had to guide me from behind as I huffed and puffed while pushing 15kg worth of weights.

After a few weeks, I was still huffing and puffing but gone was the shoving hand that helped kick start my abs workout. If he hadn't forced me to look up into the mirror for him to wave his hands at me, I wouldn't have known that I had done it without his assistance whatsoever.

"No shit!! You didn't help me at all!?!? Come on, dude, stop kidding. I know you helped." The incredulity in my voice was evident. Hence the forcing of having me look into the mirror as I toiled over my reps. And, shit. He was right. I was doing it all by myself.

He increased my reps to fifteen per set and hiked the weights up to 20kg. It's not much but he knows what my limitations are and the right way to stretch me further.

Yesterday was his last chance to torture me and although he didn't, the support I got from him never wavered as I trained with BuffArmsMazlan.

Dude, I WILL miss you. I don't think there is any other FitProf who can match the kind of comraderie that we had. Here's to conquering that bloody machine together. Respect.
