How sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!! I took this off from an article of LiveScience.com & before you say anything, yes I know I'm a geek. I was actually brushing up on any news about whales, dophins and the like. It's been awhile since I read about them cetaceans so after browsing through a couple of interesting articles, this one popped up.
This is from a zoo in China where a mother tiger literally rejected her three cubs right after they were born. They didn't say what kind of tiger she was but take a look at her cubs.
One orange, one off-white with a stripey tail & the last, a mottled black and white. The last black one is the mongrel's pup.
It is the norm for mother tigers to naturally reject their offspring. It was either that of gobble them up in a heartbeat. So, what the zookeepers did was remove the cubs from the vicinity and are now handraising them in their nursery.
The amazing thing is that this dog has done it many times before and she doesn't to mind doing it again. Even without smattering tiger urine on the dog to mark that these cubs belong to her, she willingly gives her milk to them.
I guess it isn't really unorthodox to be born to a mother but being fed by another. In Islam, Prophet Muhammad went through the same thing. Because his mother couldn't feed him, he was given to a some sort of surrogate mother just for her milk. I think my mom did the same thing, not for me but rather for one of my cousins.
Cool, ehh.
