Badminton tourney amongst ourselves was just another excuse for us to get up & get out & get in shape. Especially for those who considered round as a shape. Chippy & Nas fell, there are pictures to prove. I fell the worst fall, but nobody was at hand to take image note of it.
Literally, I tripped on my feet & landed on my left bum. My body was to pay for it the next day the moment I tried to get out of bed. Couldn't even sit my backside properly on the toilet.
But we had tons of fun, didn't we?? Especially towards the end when the rest had given in except for Jan, myself & Amir. It was a two-against-one situation, but, boy did he make us work for it.
Of course, the startups were always my problem area. Long absences from practice were my downfall. For the first few games, I felt inadequate even though I knew I could passably play. But with each serve came improvement & the increase of confidence level.
Although I made stupid mistakes, got caught in the net more times than I could count & served like as though I was playing in Wimbledon, then again, it wouldn't have been half the fun without it.
Ready to take on Ronald Susilo we were not, but just the thought of all of us together playing against & with each other, the feeling is as though we've already won the title. Even if it is, just badminton.
