Hanging Out With The Sisters

Here I was, thinking I'd spend yet another whole day staying at home, either sitting at the lappie or slouching in the couch. But it appeared Mom had other plans for me.

I was to accompany my sister & bring the others out to Tampines Mall where she would get her friend a few birthday gifts & the rest of us would get to buy little trinkets. Ten dollars apiece, Mom said & gave us more than a few extras 'just in case'.

Reluctantly, I pulled my butt out of that oh-so-comfortable sofa & started ironing my clothes. Ahh, at least I got to have some fresh air in my lungs instead of having to breathe the same old house air available at home. And so, at about 6pm, the sisters & I headed out to Tampines Mall. Yeah, all FIVE of us, Mom excluded. Mom said it would give the girls something else better to do than to sit around at home & watch whatever that was showing on cable.

We set off by bus, a cab wouldn't suffice due to the fact that taxis only accept four & not more. I never had problems travelling with my sisters because believe it or not, they're perfect angels outside. Mom had it instilled in them that whenever we went out, there was to be no nonsense. None at all. Because if there were, once we got home we'd get it from both Mom & Dad. Therefore, seeing one of my sisters bawling their eyes out & screaming at the top of their lungs would be like finding a needle in a freakin' haystack. A big number we may be, but when we were outside, you can hardly hear a word from us. Seriously.

I've brought my sisters out countless of times; to the jamming studios with the GB Family while loud music blasted through the rooms, to swimming pools where rambunctious kids were left to run amuck, to Blome's 21st birthday party where Chippy notoriously NEARLY made my baby sister, Nini, cry. Thank GOD that girl knew how to hold her tears & didn't let Chippy get the worst out of her. And all of my friends were quite surprised by the turnout of my sisters.

Heck, even Nini -not my sister, but one of my best mates- found it hard to believe that I brought all four girls out to the ever-crowded Tampines Mall. Ahh well, I'm not SuperSister for nothing, you know. When I told her of my activities earlier today, she regretted not staying longer, else she'd be able to see how I handled four very outgoing girls that, at times, could sound like fourteen instead of four when put in a room together.

We tried a few stores to see what Nuryn had in mind for her friend & at last, ended up in Popular Bookstore, where she found a few perfect gifts for her friend. And in the end, we too got ourselves a thing or two of our own. Fatin & Adlyn both got nice paper for their school projects & Fatin got a nice notebook for her school notes while Adlyn opted for a birthday notebook which elaborated on each date of the month & what your birthdate actually means. Very cool.

I got for Nini a Sketchbook, seeing as she liked to doodle with Art & came up with the most innovative Artworks. Not bad for a six-year-old. Nuryn & I both got notebooks for ourselves; of course, mine just HAD to be orange in color -I wouldn't buy it if it were any other.

After our little shopping session, we went over to Century Square to get our dinners. Adlyn wanted to stay there & eat but alas, the place was pretty crowded so we decided in the end to take our dinners home. Keepng my promise I made to Nini, we stopped by McDonald's after dropping at NTUC to get a few groceries for Mom for a couple of McDonald's milkshakes the two younger ones were eager to try.

It wasn't that big a deal for Adlyn because she had already tasted them when I brought her to Downtown East for a swimming session. (Not that she swam much, either.)

We took the bus from Tampines Library upon knowing that the Interchange was going to be packed with homosapiens & such. It wasn't a long wait for us; the bus arrived about a few minutes after we reached Tampines Library's bus stop & thus, was able to reach home at 8.45pm, just in time to catch the Merseyside derby.

Going out with my sisters was never a burden for me; it definitely didn't feel like a burden!! So, who's to say hanging out with your siblings are a bore of a chore?? It certainly wasn't that way for me. Not bad a way to spend the Saturday, ehh??

Laterz...
