Whahahahkz!! They got beaten 2-1 to Middlesbrough!! The only consolation goal they got was from Jose Antonio Reyes (Such's favorite) at the 90th minute. Okay, well the Red Devils didn't fare much better either. They drew 1-1 to City in which Ruud van Nistelrooy scored a rebound goal at the edge of the first half while Joey Barton scored for the Blues in the second. 'Keeper Sarry was great, as usual, denying an Andy Cole strike & saving the Devils from further embarrassment. Where would we hide our faces if City were to beat us??
Guess that's the end of Sarry's 100% clean sheet for not conceeding goals. But, quite a result considering last season's performance with the shuffle of 'keepers Tim Howard & Roy Carroll whom among them, made quite a share of blunders.
Liverpool settled with a stalemate 0-0 to the Spurs; they go up against Real Betis in the upcoming Champions League group stages while Manchester United will welcome back Diego Forlan, NOT as one of them but as their competitors in Villareal where Forlan was the top scorer in the Spanish Primera Liga after he was sold off. And Chelsea won 2-0 against Sunderland with a late 2nd goal from Didier Drogba (hate the name, hate the fella even more).
Don't know who they're pitched against in the Champions League match, though & don't care either. Should I?? I'm an ABC -Anything But Chelsea- fan. Arsenal play FC Thun at home in Highbury where they'll be facing a mild problem with striker & talisman Thierry Henry on the bench nursing an injury through international duty & 'keeper Jen Lehmann out on suspension. Arsene Wenger would probably face a dilemma as to which 'keeper he should field: on-loan Mart Poom or substitute Almunia.
A big surprise came from West Ham United where they thrashed Aston Villa 4-0, with a hat-trick from Marlon Harwood. You see, Villains?? Who asked you to buy silly Baros?? I bet out of all the 3 promoted clubs, the Hammers would be the ones to stay. I mean, judging from their grim determination to win matches, they should be able to do quite well in the Premiership.
Ahhh, bloody hell. It wasn't as if I could watch all those matches on TV. I couldn't even tune in on the internet for the live telecast because my family wanted to go over to Gran's place & then have supper somewhere. Oh well, since I'm a fillial grand-daughter who wouldn't likely be able to turn down a family visit, I chose to go. There was gonna be free food later, anywayz.
So, basically today is boring. I just came back from my weekly religious class & am currently doing some work for Mummy Alonso. What, you think I don't do work at home & rot instead?? Hey, I do work also, okay?? When I'm asked to. Mummy Alonso requested that I research on Swarovski crystals & all stuff relating to them since she's now into jewellery-making these days. Well, not only as a past-time hobby but as a mini-business too. You know Mummy Alonso; she wants to be like, the Jack-of-all-trades modern Mummy. Not that I mind.
My parents had a wedding to attend today & after the event, they picked up my 2 sisters & went over to look at some landed property. The Alonso family, Daddy Alonso especially, have been thinking that a move would be good for us since we're all growing up & space in the house is limited even though our current lodgings is a 5-room exec. I mean, the 3 girls share one-and-a-half rooms while I occupied a room for myself; Nini still sleeps with the parents. So, Dad thinks it's time we all branched out into our own rooms. Furthermore, we wouldn't have an overpopulation where the number of people override the amount of space when we hold gatherings or functions at our home.
Mom insists on a single-storey private house even though us, kids, want those multi-storey ones. Mom says that cleaning this current house is already hell, so what more a house with multiple storeys?? They found a 5-storey house at Loyang Villas, though, which was reasonably priced but Mom put her foot down on it. Like, obviously my 2 sisters were loving it. I didn't get to see it since I stayed home. We tried coaxing Mom into agreeing to a multi-level house by saying we'd help to clean it but Mom knew us better. Damn.
I just finished downloading the movie Dude, Where's My Car? because I was high on it when I first saw it on TV a few weeks ago. Even though the storyline is worth peanuts, but some of the lines are worth remembering. I mean, the way Jesse & Chester go about finding Jesse's car while trying to revive their memory kinda holds a little promise, but the ending sequence was just a flop. But then again, during the year 2000 when pop stars ruled the planetarium, everybody was willing to pay their bucks just to see the very hunky Ashton Kutcher & the very cute Seann Williams Scott in action. Yep, those were the days when they were looked upon as eye-candy. Well, maybe they still are in some ways.
Another movie that made its premiere tonight was Men In Black II. Not that I watched most of it; I was busy chatting on the phone with Jan & Such. But from how much I saw, I guess it's pretty much predictable what happened. Although it's quirkier, Will Smith is 'meaner' & Lara Flynn Boyle was just disgusting.
I'm also in the middle of downloading March Of The Penguins which just recently came out on the big-screen. It's not exactly a movie, but a documentary on the life of the emperor penguins & their journey crossing from one area to another. It received good reviews from critiques so I thought, why not??
I actually wanted to download this Dutch movie, Phileine Says Sorry also because of its good reviews & because I'm underaged to watch it. It's R-21. Reading from the newspaper, the storyline seems quite solid but I just can't get it from my program. Damn. I mean, so what if it's R-21?? I'm not looking out for the 'mature' content; I just want to find out how she goes about catching her philandering boyfriend in the act of having an affair with another woman while working in New York. And it has English subtitles or is it in English?? I forgot which one. But sounds cool, innit?? In the words of Jesse & Chester: Shibby!!
The other movie I'm currently downloading (I seem to be doing a lot of that) is You Got Served featuring ex-R&B boybander Omarion from B2K. Also has reknowned dance choreographer Wade Robson in there too. It didn't make it to the big screens here but it's available on VCD & DVD, which of course, I didn't buy. I guess it's like the male version of Honey?? Not too sure about that. Will have to wait till the movie has finished its downloading process.
Heck, I haven't even watched like, 3 other movies that I downloaded before. Cheaper By The Dozen, The Longest Yard & Valiant. I know the first movie is damn outdated, but I haven't watched it yet!!
Another recent movie I'm looking out for is The Perfect Catch. Not because there's Jimmy Fallon, but because of Drew Barrymore!! Hmmm, at the number of movies I have currently...movie marathon, anyone?? Ahahahkz!!
