Wow!! What a fantastic win over Debrecen in Hungary!! Two unbelievable headers in both halves of the game by the guy you'd least expect it, former PSG-man, Gabi Heinze, who brought United to a comfortable win & qualify for the Champions League games in group stages. That was bloody brilliant. And in honor of his former services, PSG has awarded him as Best Defender as voted by fans. In addition, Gabi receives the Sir Matt Busby Award from Manchester United as well which will be handed to him on the derby match against Manchester City on 10th September. Wonderful stuff there by the Argentian left-back. Here's a match report of how the match went which was sent to me via email:

Fergie Delighted As Reds Qualify For Euro Group Stages
Gabriel Heinze helped himself to a couple of goals as Manchester United breezed into the UEFA Champions League group stage in Budapest on Wednesday night.

United ran out comfortable 3-0 winners against Debrecen to match the first leg score at Old Trafford and complete a highly satisfactory passage through to the competition proper.

Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted with United's display as they sealed a 6-0 aggregate victory over the Hungarian champions.

"We had to contend with a difficult pitch tonight but our discipline was very good," explained the Boss after the match.

"We passed the ball well for most of the game and winning 3-0 away from home is a very good scoreline.

"Gabi's goals were a surprise (!) but you don't care where the goals come from as long as they come.

"The players were always going to be focused for this match because it's so important to us and overall I'm very pleased with the result."

Heinze grabbed a goal in each half – both headers – whilst Kieran Richardson also found the net with a fine low drive.

There was a downside to the evening for United with Gary Neville suffering a torn groin muscle which Sir Alex predicted could keep him sidelined for up to five weeks. Richardson was also taken from the field after picking up a knee injury.

This was the fourth time United had been faced with playing in the qualifying stage of the Champions League and thanks to their comfortable 3-0 win over Debrecen at Old Trafford they were looking good to maintain their 100 per cent record and complete their passage through to the group stages.

Skipper Roy Keane was given the night off whilst Ryan Giggs, United’s current longest serving player, was drafted in to play his first game of the season. And there was also a place for Wes Brown, also making his first appearance of the new campaign.

The vast bowl of the Ferenc Puskas Stadium, formerly the Nep Stadium, was barely half-full when the game started with United kitted out in their new all-blue strip.

Debrecen, needing four goals without reply from United to claim their place in the group stages, started well and could well have claimed a dream early goal in the 5th minute. Tamas Sandor was presented with a chance right in front of the posts, but he blazed his shot high over the bar as Heinze dived in to try and block the Hungarian’s effort.

United replied immediately with a promising attack of their own, but then in the 11th minute they were dealt a blow to their planning. Gary Neville went down injured near the touchline and was then driven from the field on a golf cart after failing to respond to treatment.

Kieran Richardson was thrust into action as the back four was reorganised with Wes Brown moving to right back, Heinze slotting into central defence and Richardson taking over from the Argentine at left back.

It was a blow for United, but there was better news in the 20th minute when Heinze joined the attack to put his side into the lead. The goal chance stemmed from a corner taken by Paul Scholes on the right which found Heinze at the far post. He was unchallenged and did well to score just inside the post with a downward header.

Four-nil to the good over the two legs, this tie was as good as over with seventy minutes to play. Debrecen had a huge task on their hands at kick-off, but now they were staring at certain elimination from their first tilt at the Champions League.

United proceeded to approach the game with the attitude of a team that knew that barring some amazing collapse they were already on course for the group stages. The Hungarians were stunned by the goal and for the next few minutes they looked likely to concede again as United took almost total control.

Debrecen did go close to pulling one goal back on the stroke of half-time after Heinze had fouled Sandor on the edge of the box. The Debrecen player took the free-kick himself, lashing a low shot which was stopped on the line by Edwin van der Sar’s diving save. It was a terrific piece of work from the Dutch keeper, which preserved United’s one goal lead on the night at the half way stage.

The defence was further restructured during the half-time with young Salfordian Phil Bardsley taking his place in the back four whilst Richardson was to play the second half in a more familiar midfield slot. Scholes was the United player to stay in the dressing room. Debrecen also showed one change as the second half started with Bojan Brnovic taking over from Igor Bogdanovic.

A lovely reverse pass from Dragan Brnovic sent Brnovic away in the 57th minute, but just as quickly as the Debrecen fans’ hopes were raised they were dashed as van der Sar raced from his line to take the ball off Brnovic’s toes.

It was to prove Debrecen’s last real hope of making any real mark on this European tie. Less than ten minutes later and United were home and dry with time to spare. Two goals in the space of five minutes from Heinze (60th minute header from Giggs’ free-kick) and Richardson (blistering low drive) put United six goals clear on aggregate.

Richardson’s joy was short-lived for a few minutes later when he was the second United player to take the golf cart journey to the touchline after suffering a knee injury. He spent the remainder of the match on the bench having ice applied to the injury.

The draw for the group stage takes place in Monte Carlo on Thursday afternoon.

As reported by Cliff Butler, as correspondent from Manchester United.

Very cool. And great work from our new 'keeper, Edwin van Der Sar as well. 4 clean sheets in a row; you make us Dutchies so proud of you. But damn, what a pity for Gary Neville. I hope that groin injury doesn't cost you your future sons & daughters!! So now, it's bye-bye Toffees & hello, Red Devils!! Come on, you Reds!! I mean, at least get a Double this season, if not a Treble. Show that Jose Mourin-WHO?? that money doesn't necessarily mean everything. Sorry to say, but I hope Chelsea ends up like Leeds United who got relegated shortly after their club went bankrupt. If I'm not mistaken. Oh, and Ryan Giggs was captain. Go, Giggsy!! Even though you're 31, you've still got it in ya so, don't stop now!!

Well, I didn't score but that's okay. Sometimes it's good to not be so greeedy & let people have a go at the goal for a while.

Transfer rumors flying about again, with the speculation of Owen moving back to the Premiership & join Newcastle United on a fee of $15 million pounds. Woooot!! According to sources, the Magpies are willing to fork up the amount just so they can fulfill their attacking problems. Ohh, Owen. You are SOOO gonna get your share of stick when you reach St. James Park & go up against us. Or when you return to Anfield. I'm sure the Kop Faithful aren't too keen on you being a Magpie. Oh well, better a Magpie than a Toffee, right?? Good of you to snubb silly Everton's bid.

Itching to do a photoblog again but I think I'd better stop for a while or people might complain. But hey, it's MY blog. You don't like it?? Don't read, lahh!!

Went out with Luis last night, after not seeing her for a WEEK!! That's probably the longest I've gone on without her. Luis, I miss you!! Whahahahakz!! But I'm adapting because I know I can't always rely on you to be there for me every minute of everyday. We had a blast last night, didn't we?? Bought gifts for Mummy, Sister & Brother Garcia. Hoped all of them liked whatever we chose for them!! But I'm sure they would lahh.

Though you know I don't usually go shopping -I hate it- but well, I guess if it's once in a while, it won't hurt. Anywayz, gift-hunting is I think, the only shopping I probably like to do because it makes you want to be that person & think like the person when selecting a gift.

Well, that's what I usually do anywayz. I usually put myself in the fella's shoes & try to bring out everything I know about the person in my mind. The fella's likes, dislikes, style, personality; the works. Maybe that's why gift-hunting is probably the 'funnest' shopping in my opinion. But sorry, I was quite tired after that. Which makes me a bad shopper, in the words of my closest & bestest friends who know me well.

I'd rather immerse myself in the National Library than shop, to be frank. And speaking of which, I haven't been there for like, AGES!! Aaargh...I think my library card is probably being banned from there because I still haven't returned 2 books I borrowed from God-knows-when. My library fine is probably sky-high & I'll have to sneak out Daddy Alonso's CashCard from our car. Damn.

Daddy Alonso would probably take another privilege away from me; I still haven't gotten my mobile phone back yet. Don't laugh. Wonder what he'll take away next if he ever found out. Hoping it's not the Internet or else I'd DIEEEE!!

Punani's birthday is coming!! I'm hoping to get my first paycheck this week to be able to sponsor for his gifts; we're planning to buy him about 5 different presents that represent him, I guess. If I'm unable to pay, then maybe we'll postpone it another day. Of course, it'll only be us, girls whom are going gift-hunting. The guys are so useless, they just stand around, occupy more space & give irrelevant comments which provides us with more irritance than assistance. Grrr. The perfect example was during the gift-hunting for Such. With the exceptance of Punani, our Swiss Indiano Bank, the rest of the guys namely, Mada, Chippy & Mazlan just stood there looking bored.

When asked for their opinions, it was either a shrug, an 'I don't know', or an 'Anything lahh'. The best response was a blank look. Don't you just wanna kill those gay penguins??

So guys, stay AWAY from us when we go Bugis to get Art's presents. You people are just no help at all.

Had a rather 'interesting' conversation last night on MSN with Luis & Harry. I dunno, but it felt kinda weird. Was that really a conversation I was having?? Hard to believe, though. I mean, the topics we talked about were weird & the whole time I was thinking, oh God!! Help, somebody save me from this madness!! Well, of course, some people did. Thank you very much from taking me away from that conference. Sorry Luis, you had to be the one doing the entertaining but I was talking to you too, wasn't I?? Heh. I just had a little more extra people to talk to. I hope you had other people to talk to as well??

The GB Family wanted the photos from Phat Nite '05 & Such's birthday bash so how could I deny their request?? And God, Chippy wanted me to send over the song I was listening to. Just Want You To Know by Backstreet Boys!! Whahahahahkz...can't imagine him listening to BSB now. And he's more of Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down & Green Day, if anything. Never mind Chippy, imagine yourself as Nick Carter playing rhythm on the electric guitar, okay?? The riffs are wicked!! Ahahahakz!!

The only people who hasn't gotten the pics are Art & Mazlan. Guys, if you come online, please give me a click & ask them from me. I want to delete away the zipped file from my portable baby so that it's got more free space.

Anywayz, here's a few funny random quotes I got off manutd.com, obviously soccer-related but hilarious nonetheless.

Funnies: Random Swearing On Merseyside
Villareal were still reeling from Everton's physical approach to the first leg of their Champions League qualifier by the time the second leg came around.

The Spaniards' goalkeeper Mariano Barbosa vented his spleen in hilarious fashion, as shown in our quote of the week...

"I have never been beaten up as badly as by Everton - not even when I was in the playground at school. " Barbosa, who clearly doesn't relish picking up the kids from school.

"Their supporters were very gentle - I don't think! They swore at me a lot, although I could understand very little of it. I saw them doing something strange, making v-signs with their fingers and I asked, 'Are they looking for peace and love?'. Diego Forlan explained that they were saying 'f*** you.'" Diego helps Barbosa break down the local dialect.
"I would have loved Phil Neville at this football club - I would seriously have loved it." A little too much love from Bolton boss Sam Allardyce.

"Big teams only want big players, big players are in big clubs, big clubs want to keep their big players." Jose Mourinho on 'big' Michael Essien.
"He wants to go and we couldn't break the legs of a boy like this to stop him." Mourinho displays psychotic compassion as Tiago leaves.

"It was great control!" Didier Drogba on his matchwinning trap against Arsenal.
"They have to enjoy playing for me and Chelsea but they don't have to be in love with me." Mourinho maintains a professional air at Stamford Bridge.
"The gaffer just kicked one of the water bottles and his shoe flew off and hit me on the chin - brilliant isn't it!?" Dundee United substitute David Fernandez enjoys an eventful debut...

"It's not the best way to start our working relationship." While boss Gordon Chisholm stays sheepish.

Whahahahahakz!!

Laterz...
