Hell, I didn't know a day at the theme park could bring about bruises, aches & stiff body parts as well as loose knee-bone. Yep, that was how the Chill Clubberz spent the whole of Sunday doing. Losing ourselves in the midst relaxation at Escape Theme Park. And it was indeed, an escape from the real world for a moment we thought of nothing but play play play.
The Clubberz who went included myself, Mada the newly elected President (after we kicked out PK for having a girlfriend), Jan the promoted VP, Van, Michelle & Suchi and also the 2 newly recruited members, Kit Fun & Art. Art was already considered a member but Mada wanted it to be an official signing in. Which we did while waiting in line at the Panasonic indoor rollercoaster. Great place for signing in new members, it seems.
But first we had to wait for our stupid President to arrive siince the bugger woke up late. How late? As in when I called him then he woke up kind of late. And boy did I let him have it. Apparently when he asked me to hold the line, Art was calling him, too. And after Art put down on him, I continued my tirade. There was no way in hell that I was going to let Mada escape Escape.
Anywayz, there were exactly 8 of us so everyone had a partner. It didn't matter who our partner was because we were gonna switch around anyway. So the first ride we went to was the Viking. And me, whom hadn't ridden on ride for so long really freaked out & screamed my lungs out. The unfortunate person who was sitting beside me was Suchi & she claimed that after sitting with me, she was kinda hard on hearing on her right ear.
Art added that right after I screamed, a group of kids opposite us began screaming too. Baffled, I asked him whatever for, he sent me an incredulous look and replied, "What do you think?? They were trying to compete with you! Obviously you won."
Ooookay. I was that loud, huh?? One person versus a whole group of kiddies. Like whoa.
So the second ride we took was the Panasonic indoor coaster & I sat with Art behind while Adam & Kitty rode in front. And again me being me who has the phobia of the dark and a little bit of heights took it like I took to the VIking. But now that both were combined, it made it twice worse. Even before the coaster plunged down the near-vertical drop, I was already clutching on to Art for dear life. It was amazing how my fingers didn't leave a hole in his shirt.
And when we were dropping, I screamed right into his ear. Or so he claimed. He just announced officiallly that his right ear was a little hard of hearing after the ride. Seems that I have a penchant for screaming into people's right ear. But anywayz, Art makes a good rollercoaster partner 'cuz he's kinda cushiony so when the coaster jerks, you don't really feel the impact that much...ahahahakz!!
Anywayz, I felt like puking after that & Jan said that my teeth were chattering. Which they were. I had just gotten flung from side to side & nearly ate my own heart in my throat during those drops. The rest got worried, of course & told me that if I wanted a rest, I could do so. But I waved them away, saying that I was jusst unaccustomed to these things after a loooong time not going to any theme parks.
I apologized profusely to Art for turning him half-deaf & we proceeded to ride the Rainbow next. I didn't scream then & to them, it was miraculous. Like I kept saying, I just wasn't accustomed yet & my body wasn't in tune, so there.
After a few heart-vomitting, gut-wrenching, head-splitting rides, we decided to take go Go-Karting. But since there were only 7 karts, we agreed to split up; the 3 guys would go first then us 5 girls. At first, I was kinda dubious as to whether or not the kart would support my weight & if the engine would suddenly die out on me & I'd roll downhill in embarrassment but the guys assured me that that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. So the lineup was Kit Fun in kart No. 24, Art in kart No. 28 & Mada in kart No. 25.
As the guys went around the track thrice, Kitty was in the lead while Art came in second. And Mada...well, as the bugger was coming into the third round, the 'keeper blew his whistle to indicate time-out & Mada mistook it that the whistle was meant for him when it was meant for the car behind him!! All of us were laughing our asses off as Mada cut the engine & waited like a dope until everyone had finished their 3 rounds. But anyway, his car really acted up on him & went all slow; it looked like it wanted to drop dead any minute.
So it was us girls' turn next & I eyed the car Art took because it was kinda fast & that the other girls had already chosen theirs. So I stepped behind the wheel, behind Jan's car & buckled in. As the 'keeper blew her whistle for Jan to start, she gunned her engine so hard, she literally hit me with exhaust fumes. Coughing & sputtering, I waved away the smoke as 2 'keepers lookd on, amused. As soon as it was my signal to go, I gunned my engine & took off, leaving the kart behind in a cloud of dust.
Uphill I went & overtook Jan along the way. I diidn't know who else I overtook but suddenly I found myself ending the race first in line. Boo-yah!! The guys were looking on at the gates & as my car braked to a stop, Mada took a picture of me as if I won the Formula One at Sepang. As soon as I sprang out of the kart, the guys were making worshipping motions with their hands. Hail the new Queen of Go-Karts.
We went on the Go-Karts another 2 rounds after Mada left & both times at the start of the race, Art's kart would always be behind mine but as soon as we were at the 2nd lap, he'd overtake me & by the end of the race, he'd beat me completely. Damn, the guy. The 2nd round when Kitty wasn't with us, he beat me & was first but I was still the first girl. And even when Kitty was there, he beat me again, although he couldn't beat Kitty & I was still the first girl. Art knew well enough that the only way he could overtake me was during the uphill slope. Damn. Oh well, boys will be boys.
The other girls really couldn't catch up with the 3 of us & I had always left them behind, in the dust while they took turns murdering each other. Jan said that the 7 of us racing each other would only result in one another's deaths, 'cuz we'd always try to overtake each other & end up nearly killing each other. Mada & Art both said I drove like a madwoman & that men were safer drivers. Rubbish. I only accelerated all the way.
The only sad case was that Van, who took kart No. 23 at the 3rd round of karting had her kart break down by the end of the first lap. Which brought her to proclaim that she was never going to drive a car for the rest of her entire life. Pooh!!
In between go-karting, we took the Flume Ride thrice; I sat in front with Jan the first time then in the middle with Art behing & Suchi in front for the 2nd & 3rd consecutive times. Both 2nd & 3rd times were crazy!! Because in our boat, we had all the heavyweights piled up. Art weight 70kg, me 65 & Such abt 50+ or so. So you can actually feel the boat dipping lower & moving slower than as per normal. And you can imagine the impact it made when it went down the friggin' slope!! The first time I rode it, I didn't get wet but Jan did.
The 2nd time, I got half drenched, Such almost none but Art had the most impact. He was drenched through!! Man, I wished I had my camera then. He looked a like a huge rat someone pulled out of the water!! Ahahahakz...
Enjoying ourselves immensely, we asked for another round since there was no one around. With 3 of us in the log boat, we couldn't even rock ourse;ves to & fro without feeling the boat hit the floor. To tell ya the truth, we all thought the machines were working extra hard to accommodate our weight. In the midst of flowing through the river, we did a little splashing of our own. I started it first, splashing Art & he retaliated by drenching me through. Then, I drenched Suchi.
By the end of the round, we all looked like drowned cats. According to Jan, my hair looked worse than overcooked Maggi & I thought so too. After taking the last ride; the Panasonic, we decided we had enough. We collected our things from our ocker & headed towards the washroom to change into a new T-shirt. But by then, we all reeked of unchanged fishwater. Ugh.
We sat in Burger King where Jan & I split a meal; she took the Hotdog, I took the drink & Kitty & Art went to buy the most biggest Cotton Candy you have ever seen. So all of us scrambled to get our hands on the Apple-flavored concoction & ended up in a sugar overdrive in our blood systems. It was 9.45pm when we finally left the park & before going separate ways, took a final pic of ourselves & agreed to meet up sometime soon. Gosh, what a day I had!! I think it's been one of the best days I'd had in a long long time & I definitely wouldn't forget it. Not even for the aches, bruises & blue-blacks. Photos are on the way!! I'll try not to flood the blog...ahahahakz!!!
Laterz...
