After spending an afternoon in the sun, sand & sea at Sentosa, I'm officially tanned & achy all over.

Well, factually, you're not supposed to get achy after a trip to Sentosa, just tanned. But well, I spent time working my muscles into playing volleyball, water Captain's Ball & yeah, swimming here and there. And I haven't swam vigorously for, oh, about 3 years or so.

Actually it started when I was dunked into the water for no other reason than just plain fun. The guys of my class thought it was cool, you know, to dunk all the girls first then dunk the guys who haven't been inside. I wasn't ready to go into the water just yet. Here I was, an innocent bystander waiting for all of them to resume our volleyball game -which, I sucked at, by the way- after dunking Hoon Bee & suddenly, everyone started to swarm towards me like a pack of hungry hounds.

Naturally, I protested, screamed, yelled, whatever you call it -I even hung on to the volleyball net for dear life, but Shi Ling pried my fingers off- but they didn't care. All the guys -yes, all of them- just upped & carried me towards the water, flailing arms, legs & all. Someone removed my glasses & before I knew it, I was swung into the air & landed into the water, sputtering like an idiot.

Don't get me wrong, I can swim. And I've got the cert to prove it, unlike some identifiable creatures. But well, getting dunked was fun, too. In a twisted sort of way. We played Captain's Ball for a while, until I was pushed by Hoon Bee while making a grab for the ball & lost my glasses momentarily.

And God, that was like one of the most terrifying 5 mins of my life!! And I'd just bloody bought those pair a few days ago. We all dug in the sand, with me half blind as a dinky bat & combed through that particular portion of sand where my glasses had dropped.

Finally! After some tenacious digging, Joyce found it protruding out of the sand & I could breathe properly again. And after that, I had my glasses removed so the same mistake wouldn't happen again. So we kept playing sucky volleyball & discontinued the Captain's Ball game but went to swim & play around the floating slabs of 'cheese', still at Palawan Beach. So, our beach fest ended a little after 7pm & it was a little after 9pm that we finally came home to bloody Singapore.

Aching all over.

And after being achy all over, I've just discovered that I'm involved in yet another SIT event: Bandzout

AAAARRRGGGHHH...

When here I thought that after Phat Nite -which, by the way I haven't recovered from yet- I'd no longer be involved in SIT Club events. Well, guess I was wrong. *sighs & groans

No, I love club events & I learn a lot from them, but sometimes, I just wish it were that easy. Well, of course it isn't! Nothing in life ever really is. That's a slice of reality for ya. And most of the time, reality,as usual, sucks.

Laterz...
