Sunday, July 4

Well, hello again. Yeah, yeah, I've been hit what I'd call post-Holland-departure syndrome where the depression of Holland leaving Euro 2004 starts to sink in. Which was the reason I didn't update.

That and the fact that I totally suck at blogging.

Gotta admit though, I've never seen Portugal & Luis Figo play this good since the tournament started.

Yeah, I was rootin' for both teams -though I favored Holland more- so I guess there was kinda lke a bittersweet feeling for me.

Especially after the match ended, two incidents that really tugged me was when Manuel Rui Costa & Luis Figo were hugging each other & the commentator proudly announced Figo as Man of The Match. There and then, every one of his team-mates and officials started swarming him, hugging & kissing him as they went & the look on his face was priceless. He deserved every bit of that award.

Strong and resilient Figo looked as though he was going to burst into happy tears anytime soon, even with all those people congratulating him.

Awwwwwwwwwwww.

I damn near cried myself.

Another incident happened also after the match when the teams were congratulating each other. Guess who I saw hugging each other the way only brothers & good mates do? Ruud van Nistelrooy & Cristiano Ronaldo!!

It was soooooo adorable the way they held on to each other just like the way brothers would, Man Utd team-mates that they were. And the best part was, Ronaldo asked Ruud for his jersey and they exchanged them on the spot!! Yes, which meant both stripped and walked around bare-chested, their respective jerseys clutched in their fists.

Well, no, I didn't pay attention to Ronaldo; I was too busy ogling at Ruud's fine specimen of a chest. *drools & swoons.

Anywayz, it was Ruud's 28th birthday so Happy Regards to Van the Man who's gonna get married soon. *sob. We female fans will definitely miss you & your bachelor-ness, if there ever was such a word.

However, bad news is that Ruud was suspended for 2 qualifying games in World Cup 2006 for insulting Swede ref Anders Frisk. According to Ruud, the bloody ref was bias. In other words, just plain KAYU. Which was kinda true.

I should know, I watched the whole bloody match & lost sleep over it. So yeah, he's suspended. Poor guy. What a present to be given on his birthday. You as

Okay, so Holland's out & so is Czech Rep. The final showdown? Protugal vs Greece. Again. Just like the opening match. Although I seriously hope history won't repeat itself again. Really. Portugal must win. It's a must. Tonight, let's hope & pray that Luiz Philipe Scolari has got some wonderfully brilliant idea on how to counter Greece attack. School starts tomorrow, but hey, I don't care. Even if I have to prick my eys awake with toothpicks just to watch Portugal lift that trophy, by God, I'll do it.

Laterz...
